Swine Flu? To Panic or Not to Pandemic

Hello Readers,

With all of the news stories and every channel I turn to(even on the Internet) I am assaulted with reports each day with how many are confirmed infected, or suspected deaths from this deadly disease. Swine flu? When this story broke last week, I asked my husband” does this mean we should not eat pork?” At the time, no other information was being talked about. Let me explain a little about where we live in the world. We live about 20 minutes north of the US and Mexico border. We live in a suburb just North of  Mira Mesa, where 8 more cases have been confirmed. This town is just minutes away from us. Yesterday, it was reported that 2 people from Los Angeles, Ca. were undergoing testing to confirm if they died from the swine flu.

Many reporters and news agencies say ” no reason to panic, just use common sense”. That is fine and dandy for people to say now, it is still early in the game here. I saw a CDC representative interviewed on our local channel here. His assessment was to expect hundreds more to be announced infected or even many more deaths here in the US. So, my opinion is this: Because I live so close to Mexico, and my community I live in is 93% Hispanic that frequently come and go from Mexico, I think I will take extra measures to protect myself and family.

To make matters a little more worrisome in my household, my husband is a letter carrier! Not only in contact with pieces of mail that the virus could survive on for a long time, but he frequently hand delivers the mail to business owners that work in the public all day long. Here is my point with all this. You do not start showing a fever for at least 2 days after infection. Think of how many people you have encountered in the past 48 hours? Multiply that by the size of just your neighborhood. I take little comfort in this fact.

So for Pete’s sake, take extra precautions for yourself. We have seen this virus run from Mexico all the way to New York. Do not think for a minute that this wont be global. I know some countries have taken extreme measures to help combat the swine flu, although none of them to date have had any cases reported.

I myself will not be going to my swim class at the local gym, for fear that a gathering place such as a gym would be at a higher risk for many viruses, but more importantly the swine flu.

It is my hope that the CDC is working frantically to develop a vaccine soon. That would bring more peace of mind to me and many other’s that share my fears.

Overcoming Common Obstacles In A Home Based Business

Filed under: Business Branding — Kathy @ 8:45 am

There are two huge obstacles in running a home based network marketing business—perception and discipline. From the entrepreneur’s standpoint, the perception problem is that many people don’t take the work at home business seriously. They perceive it as a hobby or something other than what it is—a business. When trying to promote the home based opportunity, perception is a problem in the form of guilt by association. People think that contemporary home based network marketing is old school MLM—it’s not, and not even close. The other obstacle, discipline, really refers to a lack of it. Working from home is fun, sometimes too much fun. It takes discipline to buckle down and really work.

Why in Internet Marketing “You.Inc” Is Preferred

Today so many new entreprenaurs are looking to the internet to try and tap into this vast market. There seems to be a consensus that to not be using this type of media can mean certain death for any small business.
While that can be true for some business owners, not for all. Those people that employ the “You.Inc” method, can take thier efforts offline and be successful simply by having a name or company name that is recognized and trusted.
In very simple terms, building a brand name requires time. A lot of time, and a lot of repetition. Think of the commercials we see over and over again. We may think to ourselves”I am tired of this commercial!”. I on the other hand think- pretty smart marketing.
I remember some time ago seeing this commercial where they show different scenes of people in public places, walking in crowds and all of them are holding up 2 fingers to symbolize the peace sign, or the number two?! I saw it over, and over again. But I had a hard time figuring out what the commercial was for?
These spots ran for around 30 days. They added a question to some of the spots-”are you in?” Finally, after enough exposure on television they announced what this symbol was for. It was the letter “V” for Verizon Wireless.
Here is what Verizon puts on it’s website -

“Verizon Wireless operates the nation’s most reliable and largest wireless voice and data network. Providing America’s largest Mobile to Mobile calling family of more than 80 million subscribers, the company works hard to offer customers with the highest level of satisfaction by offering quality products and services.

Headquartered in Basking Ridge, N.J., Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE and LSE: VOD).

Customers: More than 80 Million
Employees: 85,000
Annual Revenue: $49.3 Billion”

Verizon Wireless is a joint venture company. Keep in mind this company has only been around since 2000. The success of the company not only comes from providing quality products and services, but much of it’s early success could be attributed to the curiosity factor they created in thier marketing campaigns.
The above is an example of how to build a brand the right way. Now let me bring this down to address the small business owner and work from home people. We don’t have an advertising budget in the millions, most not even in the thousands. How can we build a brand name from scratch? Exactly the same way all household brands have built theirs.
It comes down to just two things;
1. Consitency
2. Abundance
Those are the two factors, in my opinion that will help to create a recognized name brand. Perhaps you are using your own name. The two principles still apply. Think of Donald Trump or Robert Kyosaki. Donald Trump of course is well known now. Think of his strategy when he started to envision his plan or dream. He puts his name on everything that
relates to his business. Real Estate, Hotel’s and Resorts just to name a few. Robert Kyosakis’ name is now widely known because of his partnership with Donald Trump and his related empowering seminars and workshop’s he attaches his name too.

When I first started marketing online, I changed the name of my business many times. I could not settle on just one. Using your name is a great way to build a brand. It is specific to only you and offers some wiggle room. If you have several products you can always attach your name to the product. You see this done all the time with Real Estate professionals and Lawyers.
The point is to remain consistent and massive action.

This is what “YOU.INC” is all about. You is your personal touch, and Inc. is your business or service and products. When building a brand from the ground up, promoting yourself as the expert is key. Internet marketing is full of information and products. How you can become a well known brand on the internet, is where the expertise or knowledge you have come in to play an integral part of your success.
Abundance is your marketing campaigns. How you choose to market online is as varied as the amount of websites out there. What is important to remember, learn three methods and master them. Then add from there. New exciting ways come around all the time. Think of Twitter as a great example. A California Mayor announced his intent to run for the office of Governor on Twitter.com. President Obama used this medium while campaigning for office.

Many Social Networking sites are popping up at a fast pace. Smart marketers are taking advantage of these marketing methods. Why not check some out and join today. Most are free, so it is an affordable tool to have.

How CarbonCopyPRO Can Change Your Finances

People sometimes confuse income with wealth. There’s a huge difference because you can’t spend wealth. Once you spend it, it’s gone. So even if a person has a huge income, if they spend every dollar of it they might have fun, but they won’t be wealthy. Of course, if you don’t have an income you’re not having any fun but you could still be wealthy, at least for a time. The point is that in either case, making more money—and then managing it wisely—could significantly improve your finances. That’s what CarbonCopyPRO can do for you. By integrating the principles of GPT (Get Paid Today) with a massively powerful lead generation system, CarbonCopyPRO gets the cash flowing right away.
