I had the pleasure of attending this years Amgen Tour. For those of you that do not know what that is, it is the second largest cycling race. Second only to the Tour De France. I was so fortunate, because the last stage of the race ended right in my own hometown- Escondido, Ca. Many vendors were there, most were cycling gear obviously. Take a look at the pictures that show the massive presence of Herbalife. Herbalife has been around for almost 30 years. It is the largest network marketing company in the world today. I do not believe because of its longevity, that is the reason it draws the masses. I believe it is in the brand awareness.
People know the name Herbalife. And many who did not know what it was or is, found out at the Amgen Tour. The tents offered free BMI analysis, shakes and goody bags ( made from recyclable materials). One on one weight consultations were taking place on site. But the message here for me was “our brand sells”. They know how to get the name Herbalife out to the masses, where it will impact most and draw attention.
Beside being the official nutrition sponsors of the Amgen Tour, they also sponsor other pro sport teams, such as: LA Galaxy Soccer Team, Pro Volleyball Team individuals, and most recent the AYSO; American Youth Soccer Organization.
Focus for Herbalife has always been on healthy eating habits and nutritional advice on losing weight safely by using their products. Using the brand “Herbalife” has no stigma attached to it anymore. It has remained one of the best multi-level marketing companies around today, because of the mission statement made by its founder Mark Hughes some 29 years ago. Health and nutrition products, helping people lose weight. One person at a time.
